Skip Breakfast before Work.... to become Fit ?

Confusing??
But True...

This is the long held position of Tradition, to start with mid day meal, after completing all the rituals. Studies from New Zealand, made on humans suggest this.
---------------------

Breakfast is often said to be the most important meal of the day. But, a new study says that skipping it before exercise can make you fitter and stronger. Many athletes believe that they should have a high- carbohydrate meal to provide energy for a morning’s training.

But the latest study appears to show the opposite is true. Researchers in New Zealand have found that by not eating, the body is put under stress quicker — and the longer it can endure the stress the more beneficial the exercise, the 'Daily Express' reported.

For the study, the researchers conducted two tests in which two groups of cyclists were sent on 75-minute early morning bike rides for four weeks. One group had a high-carbohydrate breakfast, while the other did without. The riders who set out on an empty stomach performed the better, the findings revealed.

Good News about Cell Phone Chargers

An energy efficient standard charger for all mobile phones will soon be introduced in the global market, said International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a leading United Nations agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) issues. ITU officials announced on the first day of World Telecommunication Development

Conference (WTDC-10) here on Monday that standard mobile phone charger is ready to be introduced in the market. The new Universal Charging Solution (UCS) underlines the role
of ICT in providing solutions towards mitigating climate change. The director of ITU's Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau (TSB), Malcolm Johnson,
told reporters on the sidelines of the conference that it was a significant step in reducing the environmental impact of mobile charging.

He said UCS would reduce 13.6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year and 82,000 tonnes of redundant chargers. Johnson said the telecom industry led the development of UCS and hence it would be universally accepted by the telecom companies. The standardisation of technology enables the same charger to be used for all future handsets, regardless of make and model. It will cut the number of chargers produced, shipped and subsequently discarded as new models become available.

The new standard will mean users worldwide will be able to charge their mobiles anywhere from any available charger, while also reducing the energy consumed while charging. The new UCS standard was based on input from the GSMA, which predicts a 50 per cent reduction in standby energy consumption.

GPS Upgrade for more precision ... underway

The world's GPS, or Global Positioning System, is getting a
major upgrade which will enable it to pinpoint targets within an arm's length, compared with a margin of error of 20 feet or more now. The system which guides ATM and Wall Street to time-stamp transactions, US drones to
target Taliban hideouts, courier companies to track shipments, and ordinary people to find their missing pets, is getting an $8-billion upgrade at Los Angeles Air Base at El Segundo near here, according to the Los Angeles Times.
It was at this air base that Bradford W. Parkinson and his team developed the world's current GPS three decades ago.
Like the Internet, the GPS worldwide is also controlled by the US (the Pentagon), though Russia and China are trying to build their own GPS. The $8-billion upgrade will make the GPS more reliable, more widespread and much
more accurate. The new system will be able pinpoint someone's location within an arm's length, compared with a margin of error of 20 feet or more today. According to the report, the 24 satellites that make up the current GPS system will be replaced, beginning with the first replacement scheduled to be launched from Cape
Canaveral this weekend. Since accidental jamming of the current GPS has led to power outages, disruption of
mobile services and disruption of emergency services in the US, the upgrade will prevent future disruptions by increasing the number of signals beamed to earth from
satellites that orbit 12,000 miles above. The new satellites will also triple the amount of signals available for commercial use and will have atomic clocks that are even more precise - keeping time to a fraction of a
billionth of a second. Because of this (clock) technology, the GPS has become a crucial timekeeper for the
financial industry as transactions - made from ATMs to Wall Street stock trades - are time-stamped using precise atomic clocks ticking within the GPS satellites. It's a crucial
technology for Wall Street, where a fraction of a second could mean billions of dollars, the report said.
The GPS has become "a ubiquitous utility that everybody takes for granted now," Bradford W. Parkinson, who as an air force colonel three decades ago led a Pentagon
team to developed GPS, told the newspaper. "GPS has truly become the lighthouse of the world. It's just remarkable how the system has evolved over the past 30 years. It'll be just as interesting to see what will come in the next 30," said the father of the GPS.

Special Vedic Ritual - Chaatur Maasya Ishti (Mysore) 24 - 30 May 2010

A Short note about
Chaaturmaasya Ishti

Time is an inseparable and important component in the creation.
This is represented by Seasons.

Ishti is a wonderful and comprehensive form of Homa, mandated by Veda. Chatur = Four. Maasa= Month. Every Four months form a cluster, denoting the change of season. This is also broadly classified as summer, Rains and winter.
The Ishti conducted at each Cluster of Four Months is Chaatur Maasya Ishti.
(However, ancillary scriptures have permitted the conduct of the series once a year;
as a matter of convenience.)

Purpose of Chaturmaasya Ishti (which is stipulated to be conducted annually, in three tranches) is to propitiate the deities of seasons namely,
Viswe Devaa, Agni, Indra, Aaditya, Varuna, Vaayua, Shiva
along with the deities of ancestry (Pitru Devata) and the Almighty Paramastman.

Purport of the Mantras, is Prayers for the welfare of the communities, timely rains and averting natural calamities, bountiful food/ crops, comfortable life and seemless transition to next states of divinity, after this life.

On this sacred occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of SGS Veda Pathasala, Datta Peetham conducts the Rituals for the wellbeing of the Society and appointed capable scholars as Ritwiks, namely:
1.     BrahmaSri Matturu R Kesava Avadhani (Chief Pundit)
2.     Brahmasri Ranganatha Sarma Agnihotri - Mysuru (Yajamaana – Principle Incharge)
3.     Brahmasri Raghavendra - Matturu
4.     Brahmasri Venkatesa Avadhani - Matturu
5.     Brahmasri Chandra Sekhara Avadhani VLSK – Mysuru
6.     Brahmasri Vaasudeva Paraanjape – Mysuru (Meemaamsa Scholar)
Note about Importance of Pradhana Homa during Ishti:
After an elaborate process to prepare the Havis (Food) for Oblation (Aahuti), the Pradhana Homa will be performed. This is the most important stage of each Ishti, which would happen in the middle of the Ishti. Contrary to notions, rather than the Poornahuti (before conclusion), this Pradhana Homa is the time for devotees to witness.
